Katherine's Sunset Dahlia Tuber
Katherine's Sunset is a gorgeous formal decorative bloom that puts out coral, salmon, and tangerine colors throughout the season that perfectly match a sunset which Katherine adored. These gorgeous blooms sit atop tall sturdy stems making them perfect for arrangements.
A little history...
After my wife and founder of this farm passed away in January of 2025 from an aggressive and rare cancer, the outpouring of support from the dahlia growing community was so immense. Among that support was Emily Fontes of Idlewild Blooms in Stanwood, WA. From her trial garden of dahlias grown from seed she graciously allowed us to choose a brand new variety from her catalog to name in honor of Katherine. We selected this one because it reminded me so much of the colors Katherine loved and has so many the colors from our wedding. We absolutely LOVED sunsets and I knew immediately when I saw this bloom that this was the one to honor her with. We also selected one other runner up that has some similar qualities and called that one Katherine's Sunrise. To see the video I had posted to facebook describing how we came to obtain Katherine's Sunset check out the link below. It is an amazing producer of both blooms and tubers. It was one of highest performers for tuber production this year for us. Ordering these tubers will have a special release event on January 18th, 2026.
